I need help here because I’m having constant TPS issues with throttle adjustment. Where as unhooking the ground isn’t solving it.
I have timing right now
But what is the trick to setting these TPS?
IAC?
Surging idle
Check engine
Rough
Not consistent
There are times where I’ve gotten it running better.
How do I perfect these tps issues and reset?

Mustang TPS Adjustment - 0.99v not necessary

EDIT: This post applies to 86-93 5.0 Mustangs. Seems to be a common myth, so lets sticky a thread explaining how the TPS works. Jrichker has provided the basic TPS guideline to follow. But here's a snip of the A9L GUFB which is the programming logic. Pay attention to the part highlighted...

There is no setting of the TPS. It's non adjustable the way the ECU takes a baseline reading each time you start the car. If the parameters fall outside the range, you get engine codes. So if you pull codes and there are no TPS related codes, the ECU isn't seeing anything wrong. Most you can is hook up a voltmeter and see if there are dead spots or it does not sweep full range properly.

Help me create the "Surging Idle Checklist"

Updated 05 July 2022 to add rough idle when cold and smooth idle when up to normal operating temperature. See the EGR tech information, section #15 for more help. Many of you are familiar with the "Cranks OK, but No Start Checklist for Fuel Injected Mustangs" checklist and the No Crank...

Hey y’all, here’s the update changed my MAF sensor and it hasn’t done it again. No more check engine light.
