long story short.. nothing was touched but my dash ripped out. so i take it was a professional.. it was raining too so easy get away...

also is there a way he could have gotten into the trunk if the dashdraw was locked to hide the button? cuz im missing stuff in my trunk.. its a convertable btw and doesnt seem to have damaged the area where the roof folds into to get into the trunk..

Yeah he could have gotten in the trunk easily. There is really one main company DEI, that makes almost all car alarms, clifford, viper, black widow, all those things. So really, they are all pretty similar. There are only a few things that you need to consider: Should you get a two way alarm? Two way alarms are nice because if you are within the range (normally an 1/8th of a mile) then your key phobe will make a sound if your alarm goes off. The other thing to consider would be do you want to get a back up battery for the alarm system? If you dont have a backup battery, then someone could just bust your window, then when the alarm starts to go off, they pop the hood and disconnect the battery. In that case, the alarm would stop sounding. If you have the backup battery, then the alarm would keep sounding.

Anything Dei, the viper and clifford are their top units, black widow is not made by dei it is made by dave levy, and they suck, audiovox has some decent units out there are too, you can also find them under the prestige name as well. If you have a vert i would for sure do a battery back up and also a prox sensor so that if someone starts messing with the car it will go off before they can get into it, and of course the battery backup is a must with any alarm. Good luck Dan

I have the Clifford Intelliguard 6000 in mine and it works great. The only problem I had was wioth the time delay on the dome light. It would cause the alarm to go off every 30 minutes on the dot. Ths shop said this was a known thing on the Mustang and put in a resistor. Been great ever since.
