Pick any good aluminum head like trickflow TW, edelbrock performer or afr 165. I'd pick an edelbrock performer intake with a 70mm tb, 24 or 30# injectors, 80mm pro m mass air if you can find one with a custom grind cam designed to make power with in your rpm range. You want maximum low end torque so your looking for good power from idle to 3000 rpm. Probably won't have the best power up top since your main concern is low end torque, but its all about what you want/need. I'd also use a 1 5/8" longtube header. It'll make more power and better low end that you want.

After my "head research" I picked AFR 165's...over the other heads. I don't regret even on my "college budget"...

I would get a 65 or 70mm TB and 24lb injectors.

Adjustable fuel pressure regulator (Kirban is good).

Longtubes will give you more midrange over your shorties...other than that they aren't any different than shorties.

A custom cam is nice...
