I wasn't a fan of either coming from owning a fox bodied 80s Capri, but now I have to say I like both equally as well, with the right mods. Some stock 99/00s to me still look akward with the stock lower front bumper and hood, rear spoiler (not moved) and mix of angled body panels with the curved roof, the overall body style of the SN95s flow better IMO. Having said that, some SN95s with the small 16s with the stock 4x4 stance and pinched in rear wheels don't look particularly good either. Small mods to both make a huge difference in looks.
Bottom line, with examples like 02LaserRed2V's new edge stang and Cobra96 GT's SN95s, to me it's a wash. Both body styles are winnas.

Fox platform = 1979 to 1993I thought all 94-04 were SN95. Now im beginning to see all these divisions. New edge, SN95, S281. Can someone explain the S281? I kinda figured the whole new edge thing is 99-04 but are they still considered SN95? Im cornfused?
"New Edge" = 1999 to 2004
SN95 = code name for 1994 to 2004
S197 = code name for 2005+

Sorry, I've been a real dick lately. I didn't mean to tear into you like that.
After all, I really don't know that much about our cars all around. I just know a few things, and the term SN-95 just happens to be one of them.

WTF mustangs are supposed to be noisy. But really other than my exhaust its pretty quiet with the top up. Before the bassani I could easy carry on a convo on a cell phone if need me with the other person not being able to tell anything.
New Edge. IMO its the first design ford has done right since the originals in the late 60's, and in true ford fashion, they threw it all away in 05.
takes alot to make me like a 94-98.
as far as best looking from the factory, ill go with the 03/04 cobras. that front end, subtle spoiler, meaty look is just so intimidating.

I have the 2nd loudest exhaust (from what I've heard) on any street car in my city.
I can hold a conversation on the phone with my top down perfectly fine. Same with the top up.
Again, Verts FTW.
5.0's are suppose to be noisey.. you'd think with the added weight they would have atleast made the sn95 quieter (can noise). Mines pretty quiet road noise wise, exhaust hums but i like it. Wind noise is all that gets me with verts, theres not much in a coupe compared to a standard ol vert
F'n werd, no one talks about this FACT.
But i still love 99-04's

With the top down of course there is more wind noise, but with the windows and top up I honestly dont notice much wind noise and my car has 80K+ on it.
Of course its a tad louder, but that all goes away when you drop the top on a nice sunny day like today and just listen to the t-trim and bassani combo as you push it to the floor. I tell ya its driving nirvana.

94-98 is where my vote went...with wheels a drop and some smoked lights they begin lookin like a badass ride and throw a cobra r hood and a cobra front bumper on and its pure sex on wheels...
the 99-04's are alright but they dont come with a 5.0 so thats lame....however i would love to own a 03-04 mach 1
