Okay, I have never owned an automatic in my life, so I don't know a lot about them. Somebody tell me what the difference is (if any) in a torque converter, a stall converter and a shift kit. Are they the same things, only called different names? Also, can somebody tell me where I can find the gear ratios in Mustang automatics? Thanks

Well im not a pro on automatics either but this is what i have learned. A torque converter and a stall converter are the same thing. I think most people just refer to stall converters as aftermarket toque converted with a higher stall speed. The higher the stall speed the more engine rpm you can build before the car moves...which translates into quicker holeshots. A shift kit simply firms up your shifts...it will raise your stock shift points a little and make the tranny slam into gear more quickly again for quicker et's. The stock rear end gear ratio for an auto is probably 2.73. most people who upgrade their rear end go with either 3.90's or 4.10's for automatics. hope this helps.

Thanks for the info. Although I know about rear-end gears, I'm talking about the gearing in the actual tranny. Does anybody know the gearing in the tranny itself? I know my T5 but not the autos.
