Ok guys... i usually dont ask too much... BUT...
Im putting together the boooost94 engine that i got scammed on soon... Me and my friend have been collecting gaskets... oil pump... bearings... pushrods...etc.. He can normally pick them up at work for next to nothing... We got almost everything... Im going to use the heads that were on the engine... i contacted trick flow to find out more about them.. aparently they are good heads... Here is the reply i got:
The heads you have had a 186cc intake port, they could be either 1.94" or 2.02" intake valve, 1.60" exhaust valve, 20* valve angle, exhaust port raised 3/4"...
I no longer have any of the flow data from the first run (TFS/KPI) highports, sorry...
The heads you have were cast in 87-88, the first run of heads were a sand casting (green sand). When Will-Burt came into the picture the heads were converted over to a permanent mold. While the TFS/KPI & the later TFS/Will-Burt heads are pretty much identical, the KPI heads actually had the better exhaust port shape.
Now i was wondering... what do i do next with this block... i found a 306 kit for $350 on the fourms.. im thinking about buying that and taking this block to get bored out .030 over... Now if i do this im still going to be running an explorer intake for the time being and a cam that is simmilar to an E... i was wondering if i could get away with stock 19lb injectors or if i had to go with 24's and if i did go with 24's would i need a new MAF... ALSO... would my stock pistons be able to clear a 2.02 intake valve if i decide to stay 302... I figure i might at well do this right... and if i do get a fresh hone i might as well atleast pick up a set of 89-92 TRW pistons... but im unsure... im low on cash and im trying to put together a reliable, cheap build... I know its a bad combination... But i think with what i have i will be able to do it... the top end of this engine looks good... and has comp magnium 1.6 rr which aparently arnt that bad... we are gonna clean it up and put in new valve seals etc and be on our way... Im looking for like 300hp at the wheels... and i want to be able to possibly throw a 100shot on it and not worry... my friend has a fill station... so the bottle fills will cost me nothing... but then again i also have a shot at a fresh 308 block with slightly used pistons and rods for $400 i really dont know what to do... Stay 302.... buy a 306 kit... or pick up a 308 block... I need some imput... im looking for high 12's low 13's na.... I also have a somewhat low mile t-5 ill be putting in so that should hold up well... Next im on to a decent set of springs... and gears in the back... any help would be great...
