Sorry guys, I traded in the 95. I loved the car, lots of great memories..ect. but, I do a lot of my driving for a living now... and well, it wasnt the best car to have year round. (Indiana).

Now, before I tell you what I traded it for,.. and before the flame wars start lol
I LOVE being a part of the stangnet community , it has helped me alot in the past, and I hope that I was able to add something to it myself.

Now, the Lady.. yes, she's gone. and I miss her. The new daily ride (let the flames begin) 2005 dodge SRT-4. I miss the stang, not from a performance standpoint,.. just,.. memories.
I dont much care to be in debt again. but, debt is safer than death I guess.

I am working on starting a family now, and wanted something with 4 doors.. and a lil speed to it. I got the SRT used, it had 2,500 miles on it when I picked it up,.. I paid 12,900 before tax n' stuff. (car had a sticker of almost 23k.)
The previous owner had thrown a bit of money at it,.. mopar stage 1.. cold air.. ect ect. but, I freaked out (in a good way) when it had a big blue bottle in the trunk!.

First thing I did, I checked the plugs, and I checked the jet sizes before I even drove the car. (I carry tools :) ) plugs where good... jets,.. not too crazy... drove the car, and, well.. it was nice. (duhh, I bought the damn thing)

Anyway, I still have a mustang.. yes.. a 1990 lx 5.0 5 speed,.. and I love the hell out of it, so dont beat me to a bluddy pulp lol

I just gotta learn this high power front wheel drive thing, its a beeeoootch.

On the bottle, the srt ran a [email protected] mph lol graned, the bottle wasnt activated until 3rd gear,.. (traction is a pain) not bad for a four door four banger.

But you know what?.. the single biggest regret that I have about trading in the stang,.. the srt being a nice car and all.. and just doesnt have the bloodline of the mustang. the heritage isnt there. thats what makes me miss the mustang the most. and why, I will remember you guys.

I'll be around,.. dont dismiss me just yet! :) long live the Blue oval. but.. be carefull of that little thing next to you with a bigass wing. lol (quick cars they are).

i have a vacation house in buffalo ind right off the tip a canoo river, 15min away from monticello... hey i understand, a safe ride for a family is more important then a death trap hot rod,... i can see where your coming from... to bad you had to get ride of all those memories still to come..

SRT 4's really arent bad cars. I drove my buddies up and down my street, and it was actually really nice. smooth, buttery clutch, nice seats bone stock, the shifter throw was scary short (mopar short throw installed), plus i like the sound of a healthy BOV :)

4 doors and a little speed is nice. just dont be one of those guys trying to push 500+ hp out of a front wheel drive 4 door car. a douchebag here in town had one, and blew up on the dyno, and messed up the dyno as well.

congrats on the purchase, and we're glad you still have the FIVE OH!

Well, I still have the key car in my mind. The 1990 5.0 was my first car, and I still have the ol' girl :)

You know, 500 hp is a LOT for any car, and driving the SRT on the bottle a few times, and I have no idea what its really making at the wheels on the bottle.. im guessing 330-340. (65 horse jets) traction is a nightmare. that little white turd puts its speed on in a HURRY!! lol It gets pretty good gas milage, as long as I keep my foot out of it.

Anyway, no. I dont see any 500 HP trials coming from this car. Its fun, gets "better" gas milage lol handles well.. has brakes that are pretty damn good.

Insurance is high though..

Anyway, talk at you guys later.

Keep em shiny side up! :)

Not bad, but 2500 miles and all those mods plus a bottle... scary to think how hard the 2500 miles and break in were on that car. Makes you wonder why someone buys a new car, mods it, straps a bottle and and then sells it for half of what he paid (before mods)?

Oh well, enjoy the car and congrats, getting a new anything feels great!

I am looking at the SRT8 Magnums myself.....as for all of the SRT8s, there is just something you gotta respect about a stock TANK running low 13s. That car can embarrass a lot of people for sure.

no you dont, they are way overrated.

You are very right. But they are nice cars. They drive like a cadillac.

There is a srt-4 around town that runs 11.50's which I think is pretty crazy esecially since I believe it is daily driven.

It's been said before, but it still holds true ... no matter what kind of times the thing turns in or what numbers it rolls on a dyno, there's still no denying the fact that when you roll it into your driveway, you're still just sitting in a frickin' NEON - the very absolute bottom-rung car of the Mopar production line. I've driven 'em both new and old - rentals, dealer-fresh, and one ricer buddy (complete with backwards/inverted visor hat and "yo, dawg" speech) that let me take one for a spin - and they just don't have the feel of a solid car in any sense of the word. Sure, my old beat-to-death Fox notch rattles and squeaks like no other, but at least you're reminded that you're surrounded by METAL; in a Neon, it just sort of feels like you're running around in an oversized plastic Barbie car stuffed with cotton for sound insulation. That, and turbo spool-up just doesn't feel right to me - I like the instantaneous jerk of V-8 low-end torque when you stab the gas. But that's just me...

I'm not gonna rag on you for your purchase, though. I mean, you had your legit reasons, and at least you've still got a pony in the stable, so we can't disown you completely. :D

And hey, look at it this way: at least you didn't buy a Honda.

in a crash test crushability=survivability.

the neon will absorb the impact far better than your fox will I am sorry to say

I think your right...all the modern newer cars have crash zones, crumble zones etc.... they are safer than a fox anyday, no matter if the fox is built out of metal instead of plastic - anyway, why do you think our cars are notorious for rusting in certain areas
