i'm curious to know if I should change my plugs? my car is a 07 GT, it just has a tid bit over 4k miles. The only mods are a SCT xcal 2 tuner with custom JMS tunes, Steeda UD pullies, and a Mac Axleback. With the tuner and pullies it really woke the car up! My next plan is a 3:73 and a 3200 lock up converter, then hello 12's

anyways should I change the plugs? If so, what kind of plugs? gap?

thanks!

If the engine is running ok(which it sounds like it is), then there's no need to change the plugs.

The plugs are designed to last 100k miles. While I had never heard of such a thing, that is what the dealer swears. Mine will likely be replaced at around 60k, just for peace of mind.

If you only have 4,000 on it, and it's running fine, why go through the trouble and expense of replacing them?

BTW, anybody have any idea why our plugs are so damn expensive? I know they're unique to our cars, but holy crap.... I just don't get it.

No need for plugs, but if you are like me and have this need to "tinker" take them out and see if the factory gapped them correctly, clean them etc.. You might notice some cheapo stuff FoMoCo put in your ride.... I know I did.

experience

Never let your plugs go more than 30k miles.
Plugs are cheaper than having a bosch platinum break off into your cylinder. (trust me )
On another truck I had 2 cracked plugs on my "100k" platinums at 38k miles on my Explorer 5.0.
Take them out every 10k miles, clean them look at them, and replace them at 20k or so. That's my routine.
Anyone who believes they can leave a set in for 100k is asking for it.
