is the speedo/odom. sensor located on the rear tires, or the fronts on the 05? The reason i ask is because im wanting to get new wheels and tires, but i need to know if i can get some bigger meats in the back, or if i have to run the 255/45/18s. Thank you.

You can get bigger tires and wheels. But if you go larger than stock it will present issues to the ECU and speedo. An SCT or Diablo tuner can take care of that issue fairly easy. But if you dont want to go that route (Tuner) then be sure to think about the wheel and tire size. You can go up on the wheel diameter a bit and then go smaller on the tire height in order to keep it at or close to fatory height. I think the overall height is 27 inches from ground to top of the tire. Someone please corect me if I am wrong.

You are correct. The stock diameter (245/55-17) is 27.61 inches.

These sites can give a good idea of how rim & tire combo will work out (speedo & clearance changes).

To calculate tire diameters you can use the formula:

Sidewall = [ Tire Width (in mm) * Aspect ratio ] / 2540

Tire Diameter = (2 * Sidewall) + Rim Diameter

Ex. Stock tire 235/55-17

Sidewall = 235 * 55 / 2540 = 5.09

Diam = (2 * 5.09) + 17 = 27.18 in
