My speedometer doesnt work and now i know why. I went under the car and the speedometer cable is just loosely sitting in the tranny and the bolt that holds it in is missing. I called ford and they said ford doesnt make the part so i was wondering if anyone could tell me the size bolt and everything that i need. Thanks.

Well its funny you say that, thats why i was going under the car. I wanted to replace the gear with a white one for my newly installed 4.10's as well as fix the speedo not working. And yes i put the white one in and pushed it in and then used some header bolt i believe to hold it into the tranny. Worked like a damn charm.

ya I got it working. My friend had a bolt that was the exact fit. I still think the speedometer might be off by 5 mph, but I am not worried about that. Pretty easy to figure out. reads 65- when going 60. so ya.

When I called Ford they gave me this size- It's a Hex Bolt with 1/4" Thread and it is 7/8" Long. I hope that helps you
