So I've had my car since I was 14 (it's coming up on 5 years later) it's a 1995 5.0 anyways before I knew anything about the mechanics of cars I had a guy that worked on my car for me (a few other people too) but they have all told me I have a 5.0 cobra not just the normal 5.0 GT I was curious as to how I could spot the difference between the two and maybe identify what my car really is myself

So while I wait to figure out my rear end issues

Vin is the best method like stated.

EDIT: thought this was a 1993 and not an SN95 5.0 cobra

Vin is the best method as stated. Other cues to look for:
-Cobra stamped valve covers
- Cobra labeled brake booster
-Cobra stamped airbag on the steering wheel
-17 inch alloy wheels
- Cobra marked PBR brakes
- Crab claw rear spoiler with the third brake light in the spoiler! Many clones don’t do this
that’s all I can think of off The top of my head

VIN will tell you for sure. Lots of visual stuff as mentioned.
Rear bumper cover that says COBRA not Mustang GT
Seats have a cobra on them. These might have been an up charge option.
Floor mats have a cobra on them. These might have been an up charge option.
The hood has those distinctive pits in them that look more like a snake
The front bumper looks different as well.

actually the 94/95 bumpers are the same as the v6, they only say mustang. Not cobra.

Had a real bad conversation with a guy from smoothline and all of their reviews are also bad. I even looked at the BBB on them and BAD. Its a shame because the market for a hardtop could be very profitable. I wish I had the skills to make one.

Sure is a shame. Sometimes people will sell their hard tops. I’ve seen a few pop up but few and far between

No one has mentioned the side ground effects/sill has the small vertical piece near the front on '95 and up cars. '94 and below no vertical attachment point.

I just want to see a picture of this car! And a pic of the vin. I've seen some good clones, but if you know where to look they are easy to spot.
