Spraying an AOD??will it hold up??

I have an AOD stang with the mods in my signature and i am planning on spraying it with a 100-150 shot with the stock trans that has 60,000 miles on it with ET Street radials will the trans hold up for a lil bit doing this??

Maybe, Maybe not. No one can answer that for you. To many variables.

Why not build the trans first and then think about spraying it?

You would'nt build a house on a foundation that you knew had weak spots would you?

The best thing that you can do if you don't want to build it is to put a non lockup converter and a good shift kit in it. The big problem is the smaller direct drive input shaft. When it shifts from 2nd to 3rd it can fail. The non lock up converter will soften the shock.


Having said this I have run my AOD on a 100 shot with just a shift kit and had no issues. You can see the mods in my sig.
