Springs...I Hate My Lowering Springs

Hey guys, I have a problem. I hate my lowering springs, the car sits way to low for my personal taste. I have the BBK lowering springs and I seriously hate em. I want to pick the car back up, but im afraid stock springs will make it look lifted. Does anyone run drag springs? If so, how do they act? I dont want to buy another expensive set. Also, how much could I get out of these springs if I sale em? People with stock springs, please post pics so I can see the height. I'm so tired of dragging on everything in parking lots and speed bumps. Thanks

Which kind do you have the specific or progressive? Just asking cause I heard the specifics sit lower. The only promblem I have with mine is whenever I try to jack my car up. It's a major PITA.

Maybe you should consider coil-overs.

Man, if I had the money. I would be all over coil overs. Fully adjustable and all, man that sounds so sweet.

I have the Steeda springs and LOVE them. Not too low, just right. Other Stangs look 4 wheel drive now in comparison...

I totally forgot that you have to do the back too. Yup that would be expensive. Wish money grew off trees.

4cylinder springs are supposed to kinda act like a drag spring. You could probably find them dirt cheap. But make sure you get some off a low mileage stang. Cause my stockers were really beat after 120,000 miles.

Drag springs will give you a better ride, and it should sit a bit higher. Look in my sig for what I did, I dont see how a full set of conventional drag springs could be so different. I run my adj. struts at the setting next to full soft because I like the ride and dont corner hard. Use caution with the drag springs I have in the rear. It sits pretty high up with nothing in the trunk, but I keep the trunk full to the max. Its not hard to fill a coupe with tools and stuff. They are in boxes, and I have a sub and amp and other stuff back there for added traction on the street

Dave, i do on my vert, but i dont know that it would help you (i dont know how to post pics, but can email them).

did you put isolators on the new springs? that can add an inch or more.

I had lowering spings on my 90 GT and i didnt like how low it was so i put stockers on and it raised it but not by very much and i personally like it.

When I got the car, in 1998. It already had the lowering springs on it. Would it be worth buying new isolators and putting em in to see it will pick it up some? If I could pick it up 1 inch it would be the perfect height. Thanks guys.

Dont get stock isolators try out the urethane ones. The urethane ones are taller than stock.

that is a good point, and one that i did not address, as IIRC, the stock rubber ones are a lot more money than the aftermarket poly units. (why pay more for rubber).

we dont even know if he has some on there though. LOL.

This is very true. My car was slammed with the isolaters removed and sportlines installed. Do a visual check first dave and see what ya got.

Man, thats nice. I love that look and height. I guess im not one on the slammed look. I just ran outside and its pouring the rain so I cant lay down and get up under it. Should I be able to see the isolator pretty easy? Just be a piece of black rubber under the spring?
