I have a '92 LX 5spd, and the clutch pedal is sticking and squeaking. i cant seem to find a way to grease or oil this pivot. how did ford expect anyone to work on this thing? anybody have any ideas?

I feel your pain bro. Would it suprise you to learn that it's not the pedal or quadrant or linkage at all? It's the squeaking, Stick'n, Freakin Clutch cable. Mine does the same damned thing and no amount of rerouting the cable has made any difference. Next Step: Pull the damned thing and lube the crap out of the cable itself with graphite then reinstall.

Hmmm, kind of hard to diagnose like that. I would try to replace the stock linkage with a quadrant kit which will include a new quadrant, cable, and some have a firewall adjuster as well. The stock linkage is a gremlin waiting to get irritated. Even if it doesn't fix it, it will have eliminated the worse part of the clutch system, and you will be able to dianose it a lot better.

OEM ford cable got rid of all those problems on my car. World of difference.
I have the UPR quadrent and firewall adjuster as well. For 40 bucks new cable, new clutch fork can't go wrong. Although I haven't put the fork in, that's a hassle, but at least I have it if I need it.

got this equipment

after crawling upside down and looking up in the pedal area, over the weekend, saw that the previous owner had installed a alum quadrant and a blue cased clutch cable, alas no fire wall adjuster. So some of the parts have been changed already.

thanks for the replies guys!

Stock cables are already greased. If someone lubricates one themselves, I would want to try to keep dirt and dust out of the cable, as the new lubricant will trap dirt.
