Most of the time when I start the car I hear this little cricket like squeak coming from under the hood it seems. Sometimes when I hit a bump it makes the same sqeak sometimes it doesnt make any noise. 2004 GT 5,000+ miles. Steeda CAI, magnaflow x borla CB mgw ss. I have already checked the cai and nothing is touching or rubbing anything.

Thanks

03silverstang:

It might be the cowl. The cowl is held down with metal expansion clips and, over time, the clips get a little worn and the chirping starts. Solution is to remove the cowl, spread the clips (just a bit), put a wrap or two of electrical tape around each clip, put the cowl back and press each clip firmly into place. This should do the trick.

HTH,

Chris

Are you sure the noise is coming from under the hood. All three of my mustangs have done this randomly over the years... My noise is coming from the dash somewhere between the shifter the stereo, and the ac vents...
