The tech told you to look into getting a stall converter and you drive a 5 speed???

Torque converters go on autos.

Haha that's so common around here in Nor cal, you dont even need to tell me - i have a good sized list and im sure there on there. The other week i had a guy come in w/ a 620HP WRX STI running nitrous and the dyno shop tied his car down from the middle of the control arm and the damn car bent the thing into a U. Had to replace both of em.

You shoulda known better tho my friend

That is classic. Go back and tell him you have a stall you want installed. Since he made the suggestion you want him to do the work. Find a used camshaft beforehand and give that to him.

I should bring in a John Deer turbo and tell him I need it re-attached to the blow off valve manifold system and my blinker fluid needs to be rechecked.

Just a thought, maybe the guy was trying to be a smartass just to see how much you knew about cars and if you were paying attention. When he said that to you, did you question it?

And I meant no offense to whyask either. This planet is filled with a-holes, hence why that thought crossed my mind. If I heard somebody, especially somebody in the business of working on cars, tell me my 5 spd car needed a torque converter, you'd bet my ass I'd call him out on it.

LOL i can't believe this was even said. While he is installing the torque convertor for you get him to check your muffler bearings. I hear they can add upwards of 50hp.
