ok guys i have a 92 stang that i have ragged out for 3 years and the only thing left in good shape is the motor. i wana put it in the 66 bronco i have it has a inline 6 in it now i have a tranny and all, but my question is....i wanna keep the motor efi, can i do this w/o switching the entire truck over, i just want he motor efi. i'm not to thrilled to have to switch out the lights and stuff too...

sounds like you will have to creatively hack the harness up, but should be able to do it, sure.
Bart on here has a Bronco (IIRC), but i think it is a later model.

good luck with the project.

Great idea, but...
You realize you're going to have to upgrade the tranny and axles even if you're 'very easy' on it? I've driven a 66 with the std. 289 in it and it is fun! I don't see a big problem utilizing the EFI separate from your main wiring. I'm sure some of the others will kick in on this. Oh, don't forget about the return fuel lines and the high pressure fuel pump you'll need... And the new gas pedal linkage.

i was told there might be 2 harnesses one for engine and the other for accessories? is that true?

well the bronco has a ford 9" rear and dana 44 front both are 4:10 geared, and i have a c4 ready to drop in to but i'm just tring to figure out if the motor from the stang will work w/o me having to go carb, if i do have to or it is just to big a pain in the a$$ i'll find a different motor that is already carb.....next post please

A friend at work has a 69 Bronco w/ a FI 5.0 HO in it. I don't know the details but he said it wasn't hard to do.

Your rear axle (unless you changed it) is 8.75" not the 9". Should be code WEN or WEM-A or B. The 9" axles are 4.57 ratio. The front axle is a Spicer 30F. The shop manual only lists the 170 I6 as available. It may have been 67 or 68 with the 302 installed. Only 1 transfer case listed and it bolts to the extension housing of the only tranny available, a 3.03 three speed. You may have to find parts from a later model Bronco to mate everything together. Probably driveshafts then, also.

I will do some checking with the guy at work with the 69 Bronco tomorrow. Hopefully then I can have some more info on it.

yes the bronco has been restored, like 5 years ago however the the axles have been replaced it isnt stock, the front is a dana 44 with 4:10's and the rear is a ford 9er wiht 4:10's it did have the 170 inline 6 but right now it has the 250/260? inline with the factory column shifted 3 speed tranny.....any more info needed bout the truck? i really just need to know if any one has or knows if the motor can be efi and run properly w/o ou the rest of the harness? thx for the info and help guys

You will need the harnass w/ the computer and sensors.

OK...
Pins on the EEC that are not on the engine harness;
Pin #
3 - VSS input
19 - fuel pump monitor
22 - fuel pump
30 - neutral switch

There are some grounds and 12v inputs that I'm not sure of, but the 4 above are the only other inputs you would have to supply for the swap. I think you might have to change your ignition switch also. Maybe someone else can confirm the above for you.
