Someone asked, so here is the latest news on the stang ...
i sold the kooks i also sold some other long tubes i had sitting in my basement for a year. i have these accufab headers i got in the fall that have been sitting there. they will go in when the kooks come out.
with the money from the headers, i bought a built AOD for the 410. $730 shipped (including TC) off ebay from a company that has a 100% positive feedback rating. that is going in and the 4R70W is coming out. and the original T4M0 computer is going back in too. after tony puts the headers on and tranny in, he is driving it to a local midas shop to have pipes bent from the new headers to the existing mid pipe. that is going to be a loud drive.
all this is happening next thursday.
hopefully someone will buy the 4R70W before too long.
i also want him to swap in the maximum motorsports rear lower control arms and re-install stock front springs to get rid of the annoying rattle with the coil overs. tony probably won't have time to do all that thursday, but the next week i'm sure he can fit me in.
then the kooks will be shipped to the buyer.
then i will finally be able to drive the damn thing, and drive it i will, until i get the fairlane back and the stang sells. when the stang sells, i will pull the 410 and AOD and put them into the fairlane (i will store the 390 and C6 somewhere, just not sure where yet). then the fairlane will be both sweet looking and pretty damn fast.
there is a guy from delaware who is interested in the stang as a roller ... he says it is exactly what he is looking for.
