well, i'm ready to pull my cam, when my heads came in today....so i started pulling my old heads....when i started to pull the #3 bolt in sequence i had radiator fluid pour out....right into my exhaust......i'm like wtf???? i figure its a good thing that i decided to install the cam now, because it was just a matter of time before i blew a head gasket or worse....

That's not uncommon....the lower head bolts thread directly into the water jacket. This is why you use sealer on the threads of the lower bolts when you re-install the head.

same thing happend to me, right into my h-pipe, it'll burn off once you start it, so the LITTLE smoke show you see when u fire it up dont be worried.

OK Jimmy

Here is how you can never have that happen to you again

See those two drain plugs on each side of the block.

Put a petcock with a screw like you see in the bottom of radiators
in the lowest of the holes on each side.

Next time you wanna pull your heads you just turn the valve to drain
with no mess all over the place

well i started putting the beast back together again....fun, fun...especially with 3 kids around.... anyway i changed my heads, put in my cam, put back on my headers, spark plugs, timing chain, the timing chain cover, the a/c coil, new lifters, new pushrods, and the spider thing that holds down the lifters....tomorrows my little girl is turning 5...so i'm taking the kids to go see spiderman 3 and then to a party at my grandparents house....so it'll probably be another 4 days before i continue....:SNSign:
