hey guys i searched the threads and i can't find the answer.> Well a few days ago I installed BBK underdrive pullies, now i know that everybody says to get another alternator (3G), but i have also been told that if u don't have a huge music system u should be alright. so today I go to start the car and the starter solenoid just clicks and the car won't start, so my friend came and gave me a jump and it started right up, so i drove around for awhile and i had no problems with it dieing out, so i parked it, and i'd say about an hour later me and my friend came back out to start it and the same thing that happened before started again , now with the engine off i'm getting 12.03 volts, and when i try to start it, I have to jump it again. So I'm confused should i get the 3G alternator or should i get another battery, thanx for your help!!

you say it has 12 volts, what does it have when you try to crank it?i'd put a fresh battery in it and then check your charging system because even if it's running because you jumped it,it's not going to be an accurate measure of the charging system.

No, what would they do to check it
i will go tommorow if i have to.thanx

They have a load tester to check both battery & alternator in the car. It will also check the alternator wiring to a limited extent. Best of all, it's free, or at least it was when I had my battery checked.

its weird i just checked how many volts my battery had before i tried to start it> i had 12.02 volts and then the car started it read 12.03 volts, and i gave it some gas and it ran at 13.46 volts, should i be fine now, cuz i'm still afraid that it might not wanna start when somewhere far from my home.
