Steeda Tri-Ax shifter

I talked to a guy yesterday that has a 96-98 GT and said when he got the car it had a steeda tri-ax shifter and he didnt like it so he put a stock one in...told me he would give me the tri-ax for $20. I said heck yea but then I started wondering if its the same tranny...will it fit a 2000 GT? Oh and why wouldnt he like it...?

Yeah, you should have a T-45 tranny like me. Got the tri-ax also.
