So finally getting around to installing my Momo wheel in my 93 and want a functioning horn. The Yellow/Light Green wire is the only one I need for the horn but I don't want to cut and splice like a fool. So does anyone have an idea on what type or name of connection that is? It runs to the clockspring if that helps. Just want to buy the female side of it run my wire and connect it up
Thanks
Thanks

What hub are you using? I believe the Momo hub uses a contact ring that exists up to 1992 and doesn’t exist in 1993.
you might need to “convert” your contact plate to a 90-92 style. Can you provide pics? I’ve done this on my car with my Momo wheel abs kept cruise/horn functional

The Momo steering wheel will come with a horn button. I sodered my two wires. Easy process.
Yeah I know that but tapping into the
y/lg wire for the horn is my question. I want to avoid cutting or splicing the wire if at all possible

The connection goes to something called a brush. This is what it looks like on the 90-92 cars. It contacts the bottom of the hub. This would plug into the connection you are holding.
Problem is mounting it. Not sure if the 1993 has the proper mounting plate. Here’s how ot mounts on the earlier column. The Momo hub rides on those three fingers.
if that’s not what you are asking them I’m confused
Edit: actually I am fully confused

Sorry for the confusion. Basically have a 93 car with a 93 column that I want to mount my Momo wheel to with a momo 4525 hub. Looking at the wiring diagram it looked like I could just run the y/lg wire up to the horn button to have it activate the horn relay signaling the horns. I'm not worried about cruise control it was deleted along time ago from the car.The connection goes to something called a brush. This is what it looks like on the 90-92 cars. Here is a picture of how the plate looks with the clockspring removed on my 93 steering column.

You can mount them to an airbag car fine. I've had one in the past you just need to make up a plate to cover up the ugliness like this oneWhat year column are you mounting it to?
I wasn't aware you could mount it to an airbag column and have it look right and function correctly. I swapped to a tilt column.

I’m in the same boat as you, but I think I cut mine off or I tucked them some where, but.... pretty sure I might have snipped them. I ended up cutting off the part that stuck out so the hub sat flush against the plate, other wise there wasn’t enough shaft sticking out!! I bought one of those stupid push button horns, but not sure what to connect to. Maybe you can just T-tap into that wire?

Have you consider getting a pre air bag tilt column? They're plentiful and a fairly simple swap. I absolutely love have the steering wheel not tilted up.
Yeah you still have the clock spring installed. That is the round thing you cut up. I found that if you ground the purple wire from the clock spring the horn works. So in my case I removed the clock spring and harness. The y/lg wire is what runs up to the purple wire of the clock spring so I know if I ground the y/lg wire i'll have horn action. You may want to do what I did and pop that wheel off again and make a template out of cardboard. Hit up Lowes for a sheet of abs and cut it out like the picture I posted above to cover up that gap.

Yeah I know the tilt swap isn't bad i've been there before I just don't care to do it with this car. I've had this damn montecarlo wheel in my basement waiting to go for over a year lol nows the time or it'll sit again

Really doesn’t bother me, but that’s a good idea next time I’m there I might look for that. So the wire you are talking about is this one?Yeah you still have the clock spring installed. I just don't want to snip or spliceI was looking for a legit connector to interface with the factory one.

I bought this thing over a year ago, but not what I really wanted, plus bought the deluxe version of it with this relay which I don’t think I even need. Thought maybe I could mount inside the horn button area and hide it and still be able to push the horn button which would push this ugly little button! I just don’t know what I could tap into wire wise.
I get it now.
will the Momo hub even mount up with the clockspring in plave? I was under the assumption it wouldn’t.
the Momo hub application is actually incorrect. Even though it’s listed as 84-04, the contact ring plate is made for the tilt wheel cars 84-89. I know it does bolt up to the 90+ cars but I was under the assumption the clockspring had to be removed.
I assume you are trying to wire the clockspring connector that normally connects to the steering wheel plug? In that case, you might be able to match the plug up here and buy one

Yeah i'm doing it with the clockspring removed. If you want to do it with the clockspring still installed you can't unless your ready to cut the clockspring wiring and face a little like Reddevil has pictured above.I get it now.

Yup I'm trying to tap into the horn ground wire without messing up the wire. So in the future if I want to move the wheel to one of my other cars or throw the factory clockspring and abs wheel back in I can.
That URL looks like what I needed thanks I'm thumbing through it now

curious.. so on a 90 you can install a MOMO wheel without the expensive NRG hub? https://www.ebay.com/itm/Rounded-St...d=link&campid=5335821607&toolid=20001&mkevt=1 This hub states you also have to buy a MOMO horn button retainer ring? The Momo steering wheel will come with a horn button. I sodered my two wires. Easy process.
All that you used was the wheel, MOMO adapter, and fabbed up a piece of black PVC?
For the two wires on the MOMO wheel- which two wires did you solder them to- the one coming out of the clock spring?

I bought that steering wheel and this hub. I didn't want to go full ricer with the quick hub disconnect. If I recall correctly there are three wires. Try touching two of them together until your horn honks. Problem solved.
I installed a '89 tilt column in my '93.
If your center horn button pops out once installed wrap some black electrical tape around it to fatten it up. It will keep it in place.

The fit with the 87-89 tilt column is phenomenal. After all, it’s how Saleen equipped there cars up to 1989. If you can swing the 87-89 column, I would recommend it. Ergonomically speaking it’s like factory OE.
Boostedpimp, you probably could use a suitcase type of connector, i don't love them, but it's only the horn.
Or just goto a junkyard and get a pigtail for the top half.
Not really loving the plate to block off the view of the column, just doesn't seem like it was born there and for sure i wouldn't be just mounting my horn button in some random place.
I did the tilt swap so the wheel fit and looked right, the nice surprise was how functional and useful the tilt column turned out to be.
