I just wanted a setup that would allow me to toss the factory clockspring and airbag wheel back in with ease when I want to. Or just goto a junkyard and get a pigtail for the top half.
Not really loving the plate to block off the view of the column, just doesn't seem like it was born there and for sure i wouldn't be just mounting my horn button in some random place.
I did the tilt swap so the wheel fit and looked right, the nice surprise was how functional and useful the tilt column turned out to be.
The plate in black abs looks a ton better than that carbon fiber one I posted but I get it. I have a 89 and the tilt is nice but I don't need it in the 93 and there are zero foxes in any salvage yards around here anymore so I'd be dropping a few hundred on a tilt column I'd rather spend else where
The horn wouldn't be an extra button it is going to be hooked up to the momo horn button. I'm not a fan of add on buttons at all

You could probably trim down wiring bullet connector to fit the pins and silicone around it to hold it in. Might have to remove it out of the plastic a squeeze it smaller then shrink wrap it. A regular crimp connector may work also depending on the size of the pins. I've done it on that style connector and works well. I hate cutting or tapping factory wires.
Any junkyards in the area? Might be able to located a 90's Ford in there and pull the airbag and see if the connector is the same and just cut it out.

Sorry to thread jack but...The fit with the 87-89 tilt column is phenomenal. After all, it’s how Saleen equipped there cars up to 1989. If you can swing the 87-89 column, I would recommend it. Ergonomically speaking it’s like factory OE.
So cruise and horn can be retained on an aftermarket steering wheel as well as a tilt column?

Yeah just to swap out and replace with an aftermarket! No particular preferences really other than the simplest swap. I just wondered if there are things you want to avoid doing or parts to grab so that the cruise control system doesn't start giving you hassle! I'm open to both removing the switches or just re-locating. I wouldn't want to permanently butcher any wiring though so that it could always be refitted at any later date. Will throw up a new thread if it's a bit more involved

Ultimately, the easier way to get fully functional cruise and horn with an aftermarket wheel is similar to the route I went. 87-89 column (with tilt preferable), momo wheel and hub, engineered velocity cruise control bracket, and 87-89 mustang cruise buttons.
Problem is when you price that all out...it's expensive.

When you wire this up can you take pics and add them so I can see what you did. My hub had those wires in it for the horn button, I’d rather not add the dumb push button if I don’t have to. The MOMO steering wheel comes with with a horn. Easy install and horn hookup. I removed my cruise control and only miss it when traffic is light.Sorry to thread jack but...

Still fairly cheap for a limited use item (and a product that has use for Saleen owners, which are willing to pay way more for parts than the average foxbody owner). While i'm not really motivated to figure out how the cruise works on my terminator setup and i'd probably never use it, i do feel like factory functions should work on all cars. Maybe i'll buy one and set it aside, because my money says it won't be available forever.I forgot they are cheaper on their website. They sell on eBay but charge $150 there.

I had attempted this before actually but I guess since it’s not touching those posts behind the clock spring area that are attached to the plug you went into on the video it won’t work lol!! Yeah looks like your car isn't a 93 like mine. 93's don't come with that brush you have there that touches the back of the hub which is why I had to connect to the clockspring connector. The way you have it should work for you if it doesn't I would check the light blue/white wire for 12v if you don't then you have a problem in your wiring or fuse.
