OK that looked much more normal, try this tune and get another log.

Upon cold start, accelerator can not be released or car will die until it warms up. Car serges thereafter for several minutes until it reaches about 120*-140*. Car apears to be running rich. Can not tell with the RPM high. If I take the car to 3000 RPM it backfires.When car reaches about 180* it Oscillates bring RPM's to 1500. I can pat the accelerator and it will drop 8 0r 900 RPM a minute or two. Then it goes back to 1500 RPM AMD stays there.

? I sent the newest tune revision as 2.0

You linked 1.3.1 ......

Just double checking before I do all the work required... (i have to look at the log and make changes usually eats up 20-60minuets of my time to make a tune revision..

Question: How useful would it be to have a Tuning Forum on Stangnet?

I've considered it before (and I think there was one once) but we never had enough folks who could speak the language or explain it to folks who didn't.

Consider it and let me know. I'm thinking of locating it above the car forums as it's becoming a more common thing to do. I would have to consider how to keep hand-held garbage out of it. It's all about the forum title.

Big apologies. I will make sure. I thought I was sending you what said current tune in which should be your tune that I downloaded last. I even tried to re name it to make it easer for me to distinguish. I guess I am doing it wrong. Saying that your efforts are greatly appreciated is an understatement! I will get it right. Thanks

Hey, guys....if you remember my tune, it did a similar thing. Can his IAC be inverted ?

My car would only start with a little fuel and i had to stay on the throttle to keep it running until it warmed up a little....then it would oscillate and idle high...and rich....fouling the plugs several times.

I'm learning alot as this thread grows. I really appreciate everyone that's making this thing successful.

The IAC can be tested in open loop by raising the valve duty in the "open loop settings". Higher duty should equate to higher RPM.

@5.0Thunder have you looked at the datalogs posted by twohawks?? I cant help but feel as if the feedback from the WB is somehow off..... I see the WB default output value of 10 until it comes up to temp then it goes straight to sitting around stoic. neve going above 15.3 and never below 14.4...

Not sure what else to do about this one, maybe we need to double check the wiring used on install to the MS2??

@twohawks777@cox I can see the rpm changing state in the datalog, however the tps never moved and the IAC valve was at a stable value... that mean something was going on outside of what I can see.

I haven't seen a recent log since we wanted to flesh out any wiring issues and hardware issues he was having. It's almost acting like the sensor is unplugged. His comes with a 4.9 sensor right? These don't require free air calibration so it shouldn't be a calibration issue as far as I know. There are different modes that the wideband can work in which determines output activity and I'd imagine his are default. These are the times when I wish the car was in front of me.

5.0Thunder , a91what, I did a function check on the WB meter. The WB meter/sensor did what it was suppose to do. Even did free air calibration though not required. everything appears to function correctly. Please let know what feedback I can provide to help. This last data log was done with the pins installed back into the male connector provided. I will do another data log run with the pins inserted directly into the ECU female port and see if that makes a difference. Thanks

How did you connect the wiring to the connector? If they are not soldered in they need to be.
I know this is frustrating but hang in there we will eventually figure it out, you should be able to see the AFR on you screen in tunerstudio and it should match the gauge reading.

Also double check you are using the correct wires for the 5v output from the wb
Should be blue and blue black.

The AFR on my screen in tunerstudio does match the gauge reading.

I made changes based on your datalog, I may need to remote in if this does not make a significant change.

Still ran erratic and oscillating RMP's. RPM's never go below 1000. They rise to almost 2000 oscillating. Ran it for a couple of min while warm and car holds 15000 RPM and no oscillating. Running less rich it think.

Considering I set the iac to a set value and I SIGNIFICANTLY increased fuel it should run richer. I will review the log but we may want to try a factory reset of the wb to ensure there is no issue.

Any clue anyone? My math is horrible.
Wideband AFR 0-4v Output Programming for 3rd Party ECUs and Data Loggers

Many customers looking to to use the data output require a formula to put into their 3rd party logger or ECU to interpret the output voltage from the gauge. The upper and lower set points of the Wideband Pro gauges are user adjustable and therefor no single formula can easily be applied to every application. Here’s an explanation of how to create the formula depending on your low and high bar graph display (BGD) settings.

The formula to determine the AFR output from the voltage provided by the gauge is derived from y=mx+b (algebraic equation for a straight line), where in our needs the following applies:

y = AFR
m = slope of the plotted line (BGD AFR High - BGD AFR Low ) / (4v - 0v)
x = output voltage from the gauge
b = offset or AFR value at 0v

Using the default values of 10:1 AFR for 0v and 16:1 AFR at 4v the formula looks like this:

y = ((6/4) * v) + 10

or it can be simplified as:

y= 1.5*v+10

If we plug in 1.25v into that equation then we get: 11.875:1 AFR = (1.5*1.25) +10 which falls right along the plot chart.

If you were to adjust the BGD endpoints to say 11:1 and 15:1 then the formula would be modified to look as follows:

y = ((4/4)*v+11 simplified to y=1*v+11 or y=v+11

Question : What value should be inputted in the stoichiometric AFR value on the WB gauge?
When I do the WB sensor brake fluid test the gauge is going from 10.8 to 15.1 only. It remains at 15.1. Should go to 18.1. Do we have the gauge range correct? Just wondering.

stoich would be 14.7. You don't need to worry about slopes and limits, just keep them set at 10-18 and it should be fine. Are your stock o2 sensors still plugged in? If so, unplug them and see what happens.
