The wideband sensor won't connect to the factory harness. It plugs into the Innovate gauge and there should be outputs from the gauge that wire into the MSPNP. That's how I do it with my DIYPNP. I removed the narrowband sensors and the harness on my setup. Check out the DIYAUTOTUNE instructions for installing a wideband. https://www.diyautotune.com/support/megasquirt-wideband-installation/

Thank you so much for the help on this!!!!

I'm in the middle of doing mine a little differently.

Bosch 4.9 LSU into a Spartan 3 controller. However i bought some O2 extension harnesses and am wiring the Spartans into those so I can plug them into the stock O2 sensor harness. Just need to run an additional ground wire to the frame.

You can also accomplish this by cutting the wires off the stock o2 sensors you're removing and throwing away. By cutting them off, you now have pigtails that plug into the stock harness to use to wire in the wideband without cutting your Mustang harness. This is one way we show to do it in the PiMPxs instructions.

Basic question. I'm saving for my ms3pro but wanted to start exploring the software. If I build a starter tune in tslite, can I save it and build off it once I get my ECU in my car?

You should be able to. The paid version just gives you access to live tuning, dashboard customization and some advanced data logging and 3D tuning capabilities. When you get the full version you just unlock your lite version with all the added features and your tuning data should all still be there.

You still should start with a base tune. Building a complete tune from scratch may be a little difficult if you are new at this.

I have a basic MS3 tune file here that i used to get my car running. H/C/I 302

Would you mind sharing your tune file? I've been trying to help a friend with his MS and sometimes it runs great, and other times way too rich and kills plugs. I just want to compare and make sure I did not fat finger something.

Sure i've attached it.

This is really just the base tube from DIY autotune, set up for Ford coolant/iat sensors, 302 with 19# injectors and my wideband. I haven't changed anything regarding fueling or stuff like that

Thanks, I was watching a video on how to rescale a base table to a boost table and I figured I'd get started on that.

I downloaded this file but TS Lite will not let me work with it. I assume it is because it is from a fully registered version.

@hoopty5.0 I noticed that your tps reads a -10% at idle did you go thru the base settings and get them all current before you started tuning??????
also your wideband is showing strange readings at a constant rpm value it appears that you just keep getting leaner.. this is inconsistent and will net bad results...

I need to know a few things.
what brand wideband is it if you have an LC1 or lc2 they have voltage curves that must be programmed before the analog out is usable by the ms.
you need to check that all your sensor values have been calibrated in the system
we really need to be sure that your ignition system is working correctly.... ie the offsets are set right.. I will dive thru your tune file and see if anything is amiss.

I got a lc2 how do you program it to work with Ms. Hi by the way I'm new and I'm having trouble getting my stang to run right with Ms and I would ever so greatly appreciate any help.

The Innovate LC2 uses an analog 5 volt output.

On the MS, you configure one of your input channels for this and scale it.

Configuring Megasquirt for Innovate LC-2 Input

  1. Wire the LC-2 to the ECU
    • Use the 0–5V analog output (Analog Out 1) from the LC-2.
    • Connect Analog Out 1 to the Megasquirt O₂ input pin (usually O2 or Spare ADC input depending on your setup).
    • Connect LC-2 ground to the same grounding point as the Megasquirt sensor ground to avoid offset errors.

  2. Power and Calibrate the LC-2
    • Follow Innovate’s instructions to perform a free-air calibration on the LC-2 before first use.
    • Verify the LC-2 powers on, heats the sensor, and outputs ~2.5V in free air (~14.7 AFR).

  3. Open TunerStudio
    • Connect to the Megasquirt and go to Tools > Calibrate AFR Table.

  4. Select the Correct Wideband Curve
    • From the drop-down, choose Innovate LC-1/LC-2 Default (same output curve).
    • This will tell the ECU how to translate the 0–5V signal into AFR.

  5. Burn to ECU
    • Click Burn to save the calibration to the controller.

  6. Verify the Reading
    • With the engine off and sensor in free air, TunerStudio should display ~19–20 AFR.
    • Start the engine and verify that AFR readings in TunerStudio match what the LC-2 gauge shows.

  7. Enable Closed-Loop (Optional)
    • In TunerStudio, go to Fuel Settings > AFR/EGO Control.
    • Set EGO Sensor Type to Wideband and enable closed-loop correction if desired.
    • Set reasonable authority limits (±10–15%) and enable it above warmup temperature.

Under tools. "Calibrate AFR Table". Select LC-2 and write to controller. Make sure you have the output pin from the WB connected to the correct input pin on the MS. It differs for each model MS

Also, you will need to wire in the Wideband power, grounds and heater circuit per the innovate instructions. Should only be a single wire running back to the MS computer.

Steve hasn't been here in a couple years ever since buying a stake in DIYAutotune. Busy growing that company. You can see some of his videos on Youtube under DIYAutotune

Here's one. There are other videos that might address what you need. ALso, plenty of other youtube channels out there that detail portions of MS setup, like configuring the WideBand
