I made some progress last night, got it to idle pretty good and stuff. This morning, I tried leaning out the maf curve by 10%, and now it won't idle or run good. WTF? I was running rich, so I figured by leaning out the maf curve it would help, it seems to have had a negative effect.

Also, I can't datalog for some reason. I figure I won't be able to really tell anything until I can datalog some stuff. I go into utilities, select my payloads, click the datalog checkbox at the bottom, then write it to the tweecer with my tune. But after I start the car, I go into calcon, and I click start recording, but no values are showing up. Am I doing something wrong? I can't find any information on datalogging in either the manuals or online.

Any ideas about the fuel? Or do I pretty much have to datalog some stuff to know anything?

You've got to datalog your KAMRF values to see if and where you are running rich. Then you can mess with Injector Flow Rate, MAF and Offsets and see how the KAMRF values react.

Cool, now I just gotta get my datalogging to work.

I read something about having to reset the KAMRF values everytime I make some changes. Is this done just by unplugging the battery and hitting the brakes to drain the residual power? Or is it something I have to reset in the twEECer?

You don't have to reset your KAMRF values but when you are adjusting your fuel trims it is recommended since you can see the response to your changes faster. Disconnect the battery and step on the brake to drain any stored charge and you are ready to go.

I gotta ask the stupid questions since it sounds like you are doing things correctly. Do you have the right strategy set? You should have selected CBAZA. I've had some strange things that have prevented datalogging like the datalogging box becoming unchecked by itself. Also, have you tried writing to different switch positions? If you are on position 5 (full CW) then that is the stock position that you can't write to.

Good luck.

Yep, using the CBAZA strategy with a T4M0 base tune. I'm running in position 1. I've changed the injector slopes, maf transfer, idle speeds, fan temps, deleted egr, and deleted smog.

So I check the datalog box in caledit utilities, then select my payloads, click the payload button, then click write to tweecer? When I click the payload button, all the checked payloads get cleared.

That sounds right.

That's normal.

Now after I write it to the tweecer, I hook the battery up, start the car, open calcon, and just hit the record button?

That's all it takes. If you want to store the data you need to check the box next to the record button. In either case you should see the parameters that you selected to log. There are some, like MPH that will not display until you get a valid number in there. Things like battery voltage should start updating on the digital display as soon as you turn on the key and push the red record button.

Okay, the datalogging is not working. I'm doing everything I'm supposed to, and the values are showing up in calcon, but they just sit there dead. WTF??

You're going too fast. Set the minimums that you need to get it running (i.e. MAF, injectors). Then get datalogging working and watch KAMRF. Use the KAMRF values to dial in the MAF curve. Only when you get your MAF curve dialed in should you begin to play with some other things. And it'll take some time to get that MAF dialed in perfectly, you can't force it. You have to give the EEC time to tell you what's going on.

Rootus, the tweecer is not datalogging. I started off just setting maf transfer, injector slopes, and idle speeds. But I have never been able to get the thing to datalog anything. I go through the process, start the car, bus as soon as I click hte record button, nothing happens. All the tables and gauges just sit there.

I found that the TwEECer can occasionally be finicky about datalogging. I had one tune that would never datalog no matter what I did with it, so I ended up grabbing a backup of an older tune and making changes to bring it up to spec with the new tune. Something corrupt I guess.

Anyway, what I did to get datalogging was:

1. Key to ACC
2. Load CalEdit
3. Read TwEECer
4. Select payload and hit the "payload" button
5. Write TwEECer
6. Load CalCon
7. Make sure 94/95 is selected
8. Hit record and start car
9. Profit

You might also try a different switch position, and a vanilla tune that is just a copy of the stock one except for the datalogging payload.

Wait a minute. Can I read and write from and to the tweecer with the battery hooked up? I thought the PCM could not have power. So you're saying with the battery hooked up, turn the key on accessory, then do my normal stuff? I haven't tried this before.

Funny you mention that. I had that same exact thing happen a few weeks ago. I red did the tune and it worked

So. . .you've been trying to write to the tweecer with no power? I think you found your problem. . .

I would unhook the battery then write stuff to the tweecer. It actually worked that way.

Okay, Rootus, I tried doing it like you said, I started with a stock tune and just added payloads, and it still didn't work. I'm starting to get irritated with it now.

Maybe I'll try using caledit 1.20 instead of 1.30.

Why are you unhooking the battery??? Leave that connected, you need power to the car. then turn the key to the accessories(just before it will start). THen set your payload, hit payload then write tweecer. Then open calcon then start the car then start recording.
