Still stuck at home

I was always curious why my street always seems to be the last street plowed, but now I understand why. Because it IS the last one plowed.

Last night at about 9:00pm, while walking the dog, Margie and I heard the plow. When we got onto our street, a block away, we saw the plow coming in a direction away from our house towards the part of the street we were on. We were very excited and assumed he had already plowed our block and we were finally free. Then the plow passed us, turned around in the dead end behind us, and started going towards the block of the street where our house is. We watched in horror as the plow tried 4 times to make it up the hill, dumping more salt and sand each time behind itself in a futile attempt to get traction. Then it backed down the hill and went up another street, leaving our block unplowed.

The block we live on is a hill, with the top of the hill near the middle of the block. We still haven't been plowed. At least we haven't lost our power yet.

With the additional 10+" of snow and/or ice they are predicting for today and tomorrow, February is looking pretty bad for me making it into the office.

food is holding up ok. it's a 10 minute walk to the grocery store.

my yard and roof still have about 2 feet of snow on them right now. bracing for the next round. i won't be surprised if the yardstick is completely covered 24 hours from now.
