ASA is short for Atlantic Southeast Airlines. We fly connection flights for Delta out of Atlanta, and United out of Washington Dulles.

This is the Canadair RJ-200 I fly. It's a 50 passenger regional jet.

Yeah, I'm a copilot. The airline industry is running a little slow these days, and getting a captain position is all dependent on seniority. And I'm not senior enough to hold a captain seat.

I've been at this airline for just over 3 years. We have plenty of captains pulling in 6 figures, but they have generally been here for more than 10 years. Being an airline pilot is one of the few jobs with a rediculously out of balance pay scale. Pay for airline pilots ranges between $14/hr and $314/hr. It's only good when you have a lot of attrition or a lot of growth. We actually laid of 136 pilots last year, so it's been the suck ever since. I've been moving backwards.

Yeah, they kind of do. My cats just get the cardboard scratchers. It's a wool seat, and it's actually really comfortable. Has to be when you sit in it for 10 hours a day.
