I'm running lower mileage then I think I should on my GT. I've done a lot of maintenance to improve it; I've jumped from 10mpg on the street to about 14. Also got some good SOTP improvements at the same time.
I was doing some research to see what else I could do, and I found this link:
Recalculated Gas Mileage for 1995 Mustang GT & Cobra (5.0)
I have 3.73 gears and I definitely enjoy "spirited" driving, so it seems like 14mpg street is about right. On the freeway, I get about 20mpg, not too far off either.
Check out this link for other 1995 Mustang models.
The EPA changed their ratings to consider faster speeds & acceleration, A/C running, and colder outside temperatures. As we all know, driving style changes your gas mileage; the new EPA ratings take some of that into consideration.
