I have a hci 5.0 in a 89 GT aod with 410,s and i still have the stock air box with 65 t-body, how much can i gain with an anderson power pipe???, it already HAS edle heads cobra intake 65t-b and headers, 410s

thanks:SNSign:

I think a cold air kit is worth the money. Putting the maf and air cleaner in the fender well does an excellent job of cooling the intake aircharge. Powerpipes are really good but I cringe when I think of how much they cost.

I asume you have already removed the air silencer? Stupid question I know, but I had to ask.

Not stupid at all... that is where the restriction is in the air intake system (on the stock one for the most part anyways)

And considering no one else had mentioned up until you... kinda puzzles me.

But anyways, yes, remove the air silencer. Its on the inside of the fender opposite of the air box.

Putting the MAF and the aircleaner in the fenderwell isnt going to give you any cooler of an intake temp then leaving the stock airbox in place, since it draws its air from the fenderwell anyways.
