Stock motor/ Better choice.H/C/I or A supercharger

What setup will give the the more power for my money....my engine is stock as of now, i want to do both eventually, but for now what do you think...afr's/trickflow/cam vs a powerdyne/or say a paxton supercharger at like 10 psi......what are some prices comparisons, and power....thanks ive been wanting to know this for a long time.
 
I would say H/C/I as well. Because once you do the H/C/I or Supercharger you know you are going to want to keep doing mods. So it would be easier to do you H/C/I first because if you ever decide to do a SC later you will get so much more power out of it. Because the lower manifold and the E7 heads are so damn restrictive.
 
I would do the H/C/I now, especially if you're planning to do them both eventually. It would be a PIA to pull the supercharger crap off when installing an H/C/I, plus the aftermarket components in an H/C/I would hold up much better to the boost from the supercharger.

And actually I think you'll see fairly similar power numbers with an H/C/I and a supercharger, maybea few extra ponies from the superchager. Look in the FAQ, its got numbers from both H/C/I combo's and vortechs run on otherwise stock engines, should give you some good stuff to compare.
 
I seen a completely unmolested 5.0 HO motor, with a Vortech and exhaust put down 325 horsepower at ~11 pounds of boost. Two things to consider here - the H/C/I will put down more useable torque for use on the street and you won't have to wind the motor out to 6k to reach maximum horsepower levels. When you build a house, do you start with the roof and the windows, or do you pour the foundation? Why install a supercharger then have to rip it back off to install the different heads and all.

Im going to go against the norm and speak from personal experience...

I went the supercharger route first ( vortech S-trim @ 8psi) and made 316RWHP 307RWTQ on a completely stock engine with exhuast. This was with an AODE, so if your cars a 5 speed, you would have slightly more h/p at the tires.

The car will be an easy 12 second car with just the addition of a blower.
I ran a bunch of 13.30's @108-109mph, but never was able to get traction, because i didnt have any suspension mods at the time.

The Blower kits are complete, and include everything to get you running.
Blower kits are an easy bolt on, that doesnt require removing anythign serious.

If your experienced enough to install heads, and a cam, then go for it.
But it only seems logical to me, that for ease of install and most h/p, the blower is a win/win situation. Blower kits are complete and include everything.
With a top end build up, theres alot of small stuff involved and alot more things that could go wrong with the install..
