Stock Rods: how much can they take?

I haven't dynoed my car yet but plan too ina week or so. With my mods I figure around 320 rwhp. What I am wodering that if I add a 125 hp shot to it , is that the straw that breaks the camels back? How much is too much?

forgot to mention car is a vert along w/ 280 lb driver running that time in 85 degree heat along with humidity that stuck to you

Alot depends on the tune. If a car is tuned right it can probably take it not tuned right it's time for a rebuild.

looks more like 280hp to the wheels. But i would say they should be fine for 100shot, i think the pistons would burn or break before you busted a rod.

yeah, exactly what WhiteDevil said, you should be fine with a 100 shot, or even 125 wouldn't be so bad. However, I would look into getting some forged internals at some point, can never be too safe with something liek that

The stock rods are forged? I didn't know that. I can see the stock rods and pistons going before the 5.0 block.

yea, if you can afford to convert it to roller lifters. i heard the correct lifters are ~$500 for a set

I agree the block is the weak link, not the rods. I wouldn't spend money on aftermarket forged crank and rods until I replaced the block. It will all be junk when the block breaks. Stock crank stock rods will handle the power the block can take.

You didn't know that because it's not true. We have nothing forged in our rotating assembly.
