Recently got a set of CMS stage 1 cams for a killer deal and wanted to get a poll of people using stock valve springs for stage 1 cams. I have read enough to realize that most people seem paranoid of using the stock springs and go aftermarket. Is it the lift, or the RPM that is the concern?
I know the CMS site says OK with stock springs, so my question is why wouldn't I use them? I don't have an estra $300 laying around for spings and the tool so I would just have to keep the stock PI cams if I didn't use the stage 1s. It is a stock PI motor they will go into.
I would like to hear from people using the stock springs with their cams.
How many miles on them?
what cams?
any problems?
Thanks
