I'm looking for a street strip valve body for the 4r70w. I search performance automatic's website but wasn't able to find it on there. What are your opinions on it? Is upshifting and downshifting totally safe? And there IS still a "drive" gear so it will automaticly shift right? Are the manual shifts instant?

As I've said before, upshifting in the auto is fine. Downshifting, is bad. Personally, if you want to shift your car, you need a manual valve body. The only draw back is you have to do all the shifts yourself, which you might like. If you're just looking for a good shift kit that will let you up**** and nail gears I recommend the Jerry mod shift kit. However, if you want a good manual valve body, have you tried checking with Performance automatic and Lentech transmissions?

Knight, I checked PA :p I was under the impression they had a "street strip valve body" which wasn't full manual but would allow upshifts as well as downshifts without stressing the tranny. I did find this valve body, but it says 96 and up AODE, doesn't mention the 99+ 4r70w

Thats the one you need...
and if you happen to want one with the trans brake option...
I have one brand new I'm selling cheap..
It's fully automatic just with a trans brake
and let me tell you...helps get you off the line SO much better than
any other normal Valve body
