I'm thinking of putting white Shelby-like stripes on my red 98, from top to bottom all the way across, and also the "Mustang" rocker panel stripes below the door. I think they started doing that from the factory with some of the 98 V6's. Anyway, decals or paint? That is the question. Decals are way cheaper, and if I decide I don't like them, then it's much easier to remove them. I know there are different quality of decals. I'm worried that since my car is outdoors 24/7, no covered parking, that between frost and snow in the winter and baking heat in the summer, something will go wrong with the decal stripes. Does anyone have any actual experience with them?
The advantages of paint are that it would look better, and be more durable. On the other hand, it'll take much longer to get the work done and cost way more.
I'm leaning toward the decals just because I can give them a try and if I really like the way it looks, and I don't find myself getting pulled over every day, I can have them painted on permanently one day. But I don't want the decals bubbling and peeling 1 month after I get them.. what should I do?
(And please don't say forget it and spend the money on the engine, that's not helpful!)
