Just wondering what could be more beneficial Stroking an engine to 5 liters or Boring it to 5 liters?? Or a combination of the two????

Is Boring and Stroking even worth it on a 4.6 or are we better off just fordging the stock spec internals?????

I'm knew to the whole 4.6 scene, but...

You can take what I have to say as worth a grain of salt, but seems logical to just stroke it. Is it gonna be N/A, bottle-fed, force-fed?

Well I know you can't bore the 4.6 to much do to how thin they are. A combination of boring and stroking can get up to 318 cubes I believe. But if you have to identical setup 4.6 engines except that one is bored and the other is stroked, which is better? Regardless of being blown, bottled, or turbo boosted???

Again, I'm no expert so I'm gonna shut up after this...

...I would think the thicker the cyl walls the better. (for N20 and Boost) But if you're just gonna leave it N/A then bore it to your heart's content I guess.

i would rather have a big bore, using darton style sleeves. the larger bore will unshroud the valves and allow the air/fuel charge a better shot into the combution chamber. plus the stock stroke is already 3.55". thats mightly long. a boost in bore from the stock 3.552 to 3.700 is ideal IMHO

What he said. Larger bore is more beneficial to our motors, without a doubt.

Exactly..

But with that being said you CAN make power on a regular stroke, regular bore(.30 over) 4.6 :D.

I hear stroking the engine is bad for your car cause youre not upgrading other main parts. My mechanic told me its detrimintal (sp) for the engien! MY mechanics been workin on fords for 20 years! I think he knows more than you people!

 What are you talking about? There are thousands of cars of different make that have had strokers put in them. Go to a race track and they're everywhere. Who claimed to know more than your "mechanic" anyway?

Really?Ive been a tech for over 15..And turned all the wrenchs on my car ..

Sounds to me he is to OLD school thinking back when a stroker could hurt stuff.
