Guys

I am in the process of trying to decide on a new rocker set up.

I have GT40x pedastal mount alloy heads and am about to order a set of 1.7’s rollers but can’t decide whether to stay with pedastal mounts or go to stud mounts.

My vehicle doesn’t see constant high rpm’s so going to studs is not for a strength issue but more so as a possible means to be able to set preload better and easier etc. Since fitting the alloy heads I have to say rocker noise has been an issue.

I am contemplating Comp Cams 1048-16 stud rockers or if I stay with pedastals their 1054-16 and again can I assume these are good rockers.

A couple of bearings flogged out and the pedastal mounts cracked on the Cranes I was using !!!

But I’m not sure whether its possible stud rockers on alloy heads may transmit additional valve train noise.

So has anyone got stud rockers on alloys heads and are they noisy or were you able to adjust them quiet etc.?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
