stupid question re: removing guage cluster

how on earth do you remove the guage cluster in a 90 gt? i'm working on removing the dash to do the best project of all (the heater core) and i've got most of the dash out, there's only 1 screw left holding it up. already dropped the steering column as well, so as soon as i can get these guages out, i can finally get to the core... i guess my question is how to unhook the cables in back, as i can't get my hands back there (and i do have small hands). thanks in advance.

it only takes two fingers to disconnect the back of the cluster. just sqeeze the ends of each connector and they pull right out. but yes, it is tough

If you follow the speedo cable into the engine compartment you will see it is held against the frame with a bolt. If you take that bolt out, it will give you more slack to work with.

thanks a lot guys, after a nice little break i think i'll head back out and try it. hopefully taking that bolt out will give me a little more slack.

ive tried three times unsucessfully, just not enuf room to get my hands in there. next time ill loosen that bolt. never knew about that
