Actually, if they offer the rims in 5" backspace, that's what you'll want to get. The sucky thing with the welds is that 5.5" is a little more backspace than you need, and 4.5" is not enough. Given only the choice between 4.5 and 5.5, you would want the 5.5" though.

You'll be fine with the 15x8 5.5" backspace wheels, and the 15x4 front runners; 1.75" is the only backspace offered I believe. Bazillions of people run these wheels on mustangs without trouble.

it dont matter who makes em' as long as the width and b/s is the same and those fronts will be a 1/2 wider outside that won't matter at all

I have 15x4 centerlines I run at the track that have 1.75" of backspacing. They are a super tight fit/close to the fender lip, but that's due mostly in part to the sn95 spindles I run. You'll be fine.

not sure about summit rims but I was told (from someone that should know this) that the Jeg's rims that look just like the weld rims are actually a weld rim that were 2nds and weld wont sell something with a small defect so Jegs buys them and sells them cheaper than weld does.

I believe they make the pro-star style in 4 lug, which Weld doesn't offer. A white notch would look much better with pro-stars imo. I think Draglites look better on hatches, pro-stars on coupes. Not sure why, just how I see it. You can't go wrong with either choice imo. Show us some pics when you get them!
I have a couple crappy pics.
Here's a white notch with pro-stars that we saw at the track.

Here's one with draglites.

And a really nice one with draglites.
