Has anyone had experience installing a supercharger on a high mileage car? My 98 GT has close to 100,000 miles on the odometer but has been well maintained and shows no signs of problems. If I were to purchase an ATI with a conservative amount of boost will the engine hold up ok? And for anyone who has bought an ATI P1 SC, is there a noticeable whine with use?

i have a P 1SC on my car....definatly not quiet. First time i started the car with the girlfriend in it....she asked what that whistling noise was (windows up, doors closed)

i forgot what issue it was but MM&FF took a 98 4.6 out of the junk yard and modded the crap out of it and finally put a supercharger in it and it held. these motors are pretty tough. My opinion is yeah you could do that right now but soon you will need to do alot more to your car as things start to come up both maintenance wise and personal need of more power if i had the cash i wouldn't go with a s/c first i would build my motor up right first but thats just me and my crazy dream (one of about 10,000) of having a perfectly built and tuned motor with every ounce of power you can squeeze out of it.

I have a S trim vortech and you can hear it a mile away. I would say go for it. It's the best mod for the money and the install wasn't all that bad around 6-8 hours with breaks in between. Good Luck email me if you need any advice.
