Ok, heres the deal, I've got about $2500-3000 to spend on a turbo/supercharger. I want something reliable in the 8/9 boost range, and I'm kinda leaning towards the turbo, bc everybody and their mom has a supercharger. Anybody know whats the best route to go w/, and what are you guys doing w/ your turbo or supercharger setups. Thanks

Well, how much custom fabrication are you willing to do to install a turbo kit. They really aren't a "bolt on" upgrade.

ditto... I thought about tt vs sc, decided on tt but then as i started actually planning, writing down, and mapping all that needed to be done. tt is much more time consuming and more $. Lots of fab work! For $2500 you'd get a nice sc and install done within the day. My td05 turbo is currently in bidding on ebay. Everybody usually goes garrett but imo td is just as good.

There are turbo kits avaliable which are pretty much direct fit, but they start around $5K. But you consider that they come with headers, intercooler, BOV, as well as other things that most SC's don't, add up the cost and they are comparable.

Well, I'm no stranger to doing some fabrication, and I'm not really worried about the install, I just want to turbo my stang bc I see so many supercharged stangs and I wanted to do something different...and the power is just unreal. I dont really want to do a complete custom turbo kit, but I would probably do some fabrication. I just want something that i could use some low boost(6-8) and still make some good power. Any of you turbo guys got any ideas for kits? Or did you fab up your own? Lemme know

My incon kit served me well, and would make enough power to split a stock motor. Everything would come with it except the injectors and the notch plate, which makes a little room on the passenger side for the turbo. Making a notch plate and installing it would be the only fabbing needed for the kit. I'm sure I could find the specs for you. Anyway, I'm only asking 3k for what was a 5k kit. Take a look and let me know if you're interested.

If you don't mind custom fabrication and loads of problems, then you can build your own turbo kit for around $1000.

Are you wanting to go twin or single? Twin will def spool faster but single can give you just the same hp. With single you'd have to go bigger turbo. Single will require less fabricating, space, install time, and from what I heard cost just a little less.
