Supercharging my stock 5.0 Build in progress (PICS)

I'm going to be running a blow through intercooled setup on my car, and then once its built I'm bringing it over to Dez Racing to have it chipped and dyno tuned. Blower I'm running is a Powerdyne Bd11a, for those of you guys that are ready to tell me there junk, I already know about the internal belt failures, and fried bearings and what not. The one i got is rebuilt with the better bearings and competition belt from 928 Motorsports, so i should be alright with the 7-9psi I'll be making.

This build you say was done for a pretty decent budget, and also being done on a stock 5.0L. I've been buying parts here an there up till what I have know. I got a setup on my car for just about $1400, and I'll be in it about $1900 with a chip and tune. Not to bad if you ask me.

Setup:

Powerdyne BD11a Kit (upgraded bearings, competition belt, 2.93" pulley)
CX Racing Intercooler w/ 3" aluminum piping
Tial 50mm bov
Pro M blow through meter
42lb injectors
255 walbro fuel pump
BBK adj FPR
Vortech Ignition/Boost retard
Innovative LC1 wideband w/ DB gauge
Boost/vacuum and fuel pressure gauges

Bumper needs some trimming

Bumper still needs some trimming to get it nice and snug. This weekend im gonna dig into the shed to find an extra spring loaded pulley tensioner. I hope to modify my blower bracket to take a spring loaded tensioner instead of using the powerdyne one so i have no belt slippage at all.

yeah, how does your headlights, blinkers, hazards etc work? Thats all routed through those switches

thanks for the complements guys. I made the pods myself, it probably cost me 20 bux in materials. as for the switches, i had the dash out because my heater core crapped out, so while it was out i extended all the wires for those switches and ran them up to where the ashtray goes. hopefully tomorrow i can start making a plate to replace the astray cover so i can move the switches over there.

Will look better than the factory switches in the ash tray... IMO

thats a clean panel man, thanks for the suggestion..i originally wanted to make a panel just like that with either push buttons or toggle switches..

i was only thinkin about using the stock switches still because they are a big switch, and my pops said that they could be hooked up to a relay somewhwre and that if i hooked em up to much smaller toggles that they could possibly get hot an maybe start a fire. my dad wasnt so sure on that but we were gonna play it safe..due any of u guys think smallerswitches like toggles or push buttons will get hot like that? sorry if its a dumb question but if i can run em safly id rather do that because its gonna be hard to make the stock switches look somewhat decent

The large switches will be fine if that's what you want to use. To dress them up and make them look like an OEM install, all you really need to do is to:

1. Mount them securely so that don't move and won't break and are well aligned with each other
2. Find yourself a a piece of black ABS plastic or sheetmetal (primed and painted your favorite color)
3. Cut and shape to match the opening you're installing them in
4. Carefully cut out holes for the switches so that they fit well around each one

It'll have that nice Finished look to it instead of looking like a bunch of switches stuffed into an opening that they fit.

Oh... and the intercooler looks too small to be an air to air for a centrifugal pushing any significant amount of boost. That's just me eyeballing the pics though.

The powerdyne impellers flow 850cfm. The intercooler is kinda small, but i believe it will work fine with my setup. flow rate is 750-850cfm rated to 400 max hp. pressure drop is .2 - .5psi @ 15psi and 2-5psi @35psi.. My motor is bone stock and with the supercharger it should make around 300-325hp w/ 7-9psi of boost. so hopefully i'll be fine.

i had a powerdyne lx a few years ago. slapped it on to completely stock car with 9lb pulley...put down 322 hp.
