I am thinking about having a superchip installed and having my 2002 gt dyno tuned. My current mods are...magnaflow cat back exhaust, plasma booster ignition , 70mm tb, c&l plenum, densecharge cai, bbk pulleys.
Is the superchip and dyno tune a worthwhile addition to my mods? Any and all feedback is welcome.

Check with Bill Putnum at Modular Depot and he can steer you in the right direction.

I would say generally speaking "No", you really don't have enough mods to justify a dyno tune. There are too many threads from guys with cars like yours pissed off because they gained 6 hp from a dyno tune AND a chip.

With that in mind, I would recomend the SCT Programmer (Superchips Custom Tuning). It runs about $400 and the SCT dealer can put TWO custom tunes on it for your mods at that price( it will take upto 4). Most guys if they have gears, get a 87 octane program and a 91 octane program. The tuner will compensate for gears ect. If you have an auto, as with other chips, it will be a great help with your transmission.

Then, as your car grows, the tuner can accept new programs etc... or you can have a nitrous program and one for NA, for example. Also, a dyno tuner who is an SCT dealer can tune it too. SCT has a really neat racers package which allows you to tune your own car right from your laptop..it is a nice system. With the programmer you can keep adding stuff.

SCT has just released an Extreme Programmer too with more options. I don't know the price.

Take my advice and at least look into it. I have had two other chips/tuners for my car and had lots of problems. Buy it/shop it at www.modulardepot.com. There is even a separate thread section for SCT questions.

Good Luck!

I think it would depend on if you have a manual or auto. A custom chip w/dyno would absolutely help if you have an auto. They can change shift points, firmness, rev more freely, etc. When I had my gt/auto, I had a Superchip with dyno and tune and had great results. If you are manual, I'm
not sure the gains would be as significant.
