Swapping to 5 lug tomorrow - need help

I will be going in the morning to pick up the spindles, hubs, rotors, calibers.
Should I get these from a 94-95 or a 96-04? I gonna get the newest possible b/c I think they will last longer.

i got the axles and im also buying the drums tomorrow. What all will I need to omplete this swap Tools wise and gear oil and brake fluid.. Etc.

Never been into the rearend before. I have done the front stuff before that worried about it, just want to buy the right pieces. Rearend gets me worried though.

BTW OEM 03 Satin Cobra Wheels 17X9 with 275-40-17 tires.

94-95 will be your best bet with those wheels

youll need an 8mm wrench if i remember correctly for the pin in the diff. then maybe a magnet to catch the C-Clips.

Then just 3 quarts worth of oil, and some RTV sealant and you are golden for the rear

Don't forget the friction modifier. And you will need some spacers for your ball joints and you have to have the coupler that changes one brake line from male to female or visa versa, it s been a while.

Also will a 94-04 rearend bolt up to my car?

I pieced mine together from a brake parts bin they have behind the counter at advance auto. Autozone probly has them too. Find out what thread you have on your car then take your caliper with rubber line attached, to the parts store and make one to fit. You'll figure it out.
I think they sell them on ebay too.

The 99-04 rear ends are about 3" wider than the Fox rear ends, so unless you are planning on using some custom offset wheels, it won't really fit.

As for the adapter fitting, it is like a 1/4 to 3/8 fitting for the passenger side SN95 brake hose. Like wass said, you can take the two brake hoses to the store and find the correct adapter for the larger hard line to the smaller soft line. The drivers side SN95 hose is the exact same size as both hard lines on a Fox car.

And if it were me, I'd get the 94-95 spindles for the 9" wheel clearance and the 99-04 calipers simply because the calipers are newer, look better (aluminum vs iron) and weigh less. you will just have to grind a couple of points on the 94-95 spindle to make sure the calipers do not rub. See Matt's website for info on what to grind including pictures in the SN95 section: http://sn95brakes.com or http://svo73mm.cjb.net/ And just get the best looking rotors you can find, they are interchangeable from 94-04. Oh, and grab the caliper bracket to spindle bolts if you can. They run about $7 each new from Ford! But there is a source for them cheaper if the yard does not have them anymore.

94-95. Newer will work but I understand there's some grinding needed to remove excess material on the newer ones. I've 94s on my car, no issues.

Well the yard didnt have a 94-95 so Im getting some from a 97. What will I have to grind and will 17x9 wheels work with 275/40 tires? I didnt get them today b/c I got out there and got ready to seperate the first ball joint and realized I forgot my dang seperater. So both are sitting there hang off waiting on me to come get them monday. Someone chime in who has the 96+ spindles and hubs

Well, you will have some issues with the front fender clearance with that wide of a tire anyway. Even with 255 tires and 9" wheels you would have minimal clearance. The 96-04 spindles make the tires stick out about 3/8" or so further than the 94-95 ones.

You only need to grind the spindles IF you get the 94-95 spindles AND 99-04 V6 or GT calipers. If you get the 97 spindles, all the calipers fit fine.

I think when i go back monday Im going to walk around some more maby ill stumble upon a 94 or 95. This yard was huge!
