Syncros's?!?!

help.....I have an 02 GT 5spd with 79k miles..sometimes when i take it WOT from first going into 2nd..it grinds but it goes in....its kinda hard to explain it grinds while going in.....whats the deal is it me???...are the syncros going bad?? is the clutch not engaging fast as im shifting??? help it doesnt happen all the time but some of the time
