I bought the t-5 conversion kit from calponycars.com and I was under the impression that the yolk was shortened and therefore allowed for a v8 driveshaft to work. I'm about an inch to long. So...

A) is there shorter driveshafts I.E. is an automatic shorter than a manual or visa versa

B) If I need a shortened drive shaft where can I get an aluminium one?

Not sure what you mean by the driveshaft being too long. Is your car on jack stands and if so where are they located? Usually the rearend will rotate toward the rear of the car when lowered off stands and the drive shaft also moves towards the rear making the fit OK.

we put the jack stands on the housing and had it all the way up. The t-5 is just to long for a stock drive shaft but I was under the impression that the cal pony car's t-5 yolk fix this but it looks like a good excuse for me to get an aluminum shaft

The 65's need to get shorted from what I have seen. When I did my 67 though, I didn't have to. Just take a the messurements and go to a driveshaft shop.

You'll need to shorten the stocker by about 1". That's what I had to do. If you want a steel one, then you can have a drive shaft shop put in new u-joints and balance it for a lot less than an aluminum unit. I think Mustang's Plus has aluminum units already shortened if that is what you want but I'm not sure. Better call 'em.

have a local shop cut and balance it. they did mine for like 40 bucks. i installed my own new U joints. just call around shops asking about it, a lot of times you'll find a place that specializes in drivelines in the area, theres a large industry for heavy trucks and such.
