Hey Guys, I really need a new tranny. I've been looking at TKO600's and T-56's. The T-56 is more expensive but is a direct swap instead of fooling around with tranny mounts and clutches as I would have to do with the TKO. How much power are the T-56's handling? I want to hear from you guys making big power. I know I see a lot of videos on Streetfire and such with some high powered 03-04 Cobra's, just wondering if they are mostly stock T-56 tranny's or have they had tranny swaps or internal upgrades. I'm making 453rwhp and 457rwtq right now and soon to be higher so I want something that will last. Thanks.

I know of 2 making 680 rwhp and one almost 800 rwhp.

I think Manny at HPP is making somewhere over 800 and I think he still has a T56

All has to do with supporting mods.

With your mods you will be fine.

The stock T56 in the 03/04 Cobra does have a weak point and that's the input shaft. Ford for some stupid reason went with a 10-spline. Most guys with high HP 03/04's swap out the stock 10-spline for a 26-spline from Liberty. Once you've done that they are pretty tough and failure rates are pretty low.

U.M.

Exactly. I should have put that in. My buddy with the stolen KB 04 snapped his in two....he was "only" making 640 rwhp :D

They are bullet proof, but a careless drive can break one in a stock Cobra, so shift smart!! I drove my dad's GT500 Saturday night, and that 6 speed is a dream. I would love to sell my Cobra and buy one, but why? I have put 400 of the 850 miles on his!!!
