I've just about have all the part to convert from my AOD to T5. I purchased a stock used T5 flywheel from a friend. It has surface rust on it....how should I remove this before the install or do I need to worry about it? I dont plan on buying a new flywheel until I build my motor and get a Tremec tranny, so I would like to use this one. Also, I think I understand how to convert to a manual tranny, but I would appreciate any hints or warnings before I start this process. Thanks.

AS mentioned have the flywheel turned. You want a clean and ture surface so you don't get any vibrations, and the clutch will last a long time. It is an easy swap. All of the plugs that go into the clutch pedal box are right there in your existing harness, you need to just plugs them in. You also need the wire harness that goes from the left kick panel area to the transmission. One other major thing, is you will need to cut out about 3/4" to 1" of your floor board out so the shifter wil clear. It goes into thestock automatic hole, but you cannot get to the front two shifter bolts, unless you cut the floor board there. I ran into that when I nought my shifter, and installed that after my sway was finished. I did mine by myself, and it was very easy.

No problem man....The work that you will do will have high rewards!! The smile on my face was from ear to ear. Especially because I wentfrom a 4cyl auto to a 5.0L stick!! Well besides the rest of the restoration!!
