T5 whining/howling?

i was on the freeway in 5th doing around 70mph (seriously) it popped out of 5th, and would not grab if i put it back, so i put it in 4th and drove home.... after 5th let go, the tranny was completely silent like nothing was wrong with it.... but i think i felt a little binding before impact...

you guys think i should go to AOD? theres a guy with a wrecked 90(?) vert down the street from me(ironic he's in a chevy drag race team with my dad www.teamcsr.net ) he has a fresh aod i could probably get for cheap....

I've owned my 91 5.0 for 4 years now, 1,2,& 3 have whined since the day I drove it home. Hasn't gotten any worse, hasn't gotten any better.

Put some good synthetic fluid in there and forget about it.
