MATO is the annual Midnight At The Oasis car show at Desert Sun Stadium (former Spring Training home of the Padres). Can guarantee you would not get a show space on the ballfield this year; probably not for 2005, but maybe for 2006. Entries are limited to 850; and I'd almost bet they're filled for next year already. I (and the family) have prior engagements Saturday and Sunday mornings; but we will be there both afternoons and for the evening concerts as well as the Friday eveneing Cruise.
It's a killer show. I think the sponsors/promoters (our local Chamber of Commerce "VIP/Special Events" group) have finally worked it out with the local police to not ticket the drivers for "Power Display" during the Friday night cruise. The owner of my ultimate dream car (an unrestored '68 KR 'vert) paid a little over $0.85/foot for 212 feet of "twins" laid down on the main drag through town.
